Hats Off: Local Students Work With Organization To Combat Bullying
Jeff & Aimee are giving a hats off to a local anti-bullying organization!
Bully Busters 702 works close in hand with students at Imagine 100 Academy of Excellence to teach kids about bullying and listen to their experiences.
Big Keith Bowen runs Bully Busters 702 and says working with these students has helped tremendously.
“People don’t understand when you get bullied, people remember the time, the day, the clothes you had on. I talked to gown folks 40-50 years old, they remember when they were 13 if they were going to the store… people don’t understand the impact,” said Big Keith, in a KTNV interview.
Each week students create cartoons and talk about their bullying experiences on a student-run online radio program.
“The kids being able to talk on the radio, they get to express themselves and they’re talking, so they’re getting it off their chest. They don’t have to push nobody or put their hands or feel sad,” said Big Keith.
The online radio show airs Sundays. Visit Bully Busters 702 website for more information.
