Hats Off: Tom Hanks & Stephen Colbert Save A Book Store By Endorsing It
The pandemic has affected so many businesses but there are two celebrities that Jeff & Aimee are giving their Hats Off to!
During Super Bowl LV, Tom Hanks and Stephen Colbert endorsed Foggy Pine Books with a Big Game ad.
The book store in Boone, North Carolina, was falling on tough times during the pandemic. It needed to sell 1,350 books every month in order to stay in business, according to its Instagram post.
“These big companies aren’t the ones who need our support the most right now. It’s small businesses out there who have been hurt the most in this pandemic,” said Colbert in the endorsement video.
The advertisement impacted the book store in such a positive way.
“I’m hoping that this opportunity allows us to make meaningful connections with new customers,” Mary Ruthless told TODAY, owner of Foggy Pine Books. “And to just add more people to the community of book lovers that we’re trying to build.”
