Hats Off: Restaurant Owner Buys Every Street Vendors Tamale So They Can Go Home
Jeff & Aimee are tipping their Hats to a restaurant owner in Chicago!
Restaurant owner Robert Magiet bought out a street vendor’s entire tamale inventory so they could go home and escape a freezing Chicago day, according to CNN.
Magiet first started his tamale project while driving to work one day and saw street vendors standing outside trying to sell their food. After seeing no one buy from the street vendors he just decided to pull over and buy out everything.
“What’s great is when we visit vendors for a second time and seeing how excited they are knowing they are about to get bought out and get to go home,” said Magiet, in a CNN interview.
He owns TaKorea Cocina that serves up a blend of Korean-Mexican inspired food.
