Hats Off: Girl Scout Cookies Supporting Children In New York City Shelter System
Jeff & Aimee are giving a Hats Off to a Girl Scout Troop in New York City!
Girl Scout Troop 6000 isn’t your typical group of Girl Scouts. They’re a group of children that are in the New York City shelter system, according to GMA.
Every week Troop 6000 meets at 20 different shelters where seasoned Troop Leaders look to mentor and empower the young girls.
Because of the pandemic, all Girl Scout cookie sales from Troop 6000 are exclusively sold online. Proceeds from sales directly support Troop 6000 and its outreach program.
“All of us at Girl Scouts of Greater New York are blown away by the recent outpouring of support for Troop 6000 in the form of Girl Scout Cookie purchases, and we are incredibly thankful that so many have felt moved to help us sustain and grow our effort to serve girls living in New York City family shelters,” Heidi Schmidt, director of Girl Scouts of Greater New York’s Troop 6000, said in a statement.
