In fact, Leto said he almost died while climbing Red Rock with Honnold when the rope supporting him began to come apart against a rock.
Honnold is best known for being the only person to ever free solo climb El Capitan in Yosemite National Park. He scaled Yosemite’s El Capitan in the 2018 Oscar-winning documentary, “Free Solo”. In a surprising twist, Leto revealed that during his climb, he made an unexpected stop around the 80th level and discovered his mother there, adding an emotional touch to his already daring feat. As he continued his ascent to the top of the 102-story structure, Leto described the breathtaking views, particularly as the sun began its ascent, painting the city below with warm hues.
