The report then, from a Nevada Highway Patrol spokesperson, was that 53-year old Lee “was driving southbound in a van on U.S. Highway 93 between Ely and West Wendover around 10:30 a.m. when he went into the oncoming lanes for an unknown reason”, as reported by Fox13News.
Now the reason might have been revealed. Lee was drunk. Documents just obtained by 8NewsNow investigators report that Lee‘s blood alcohol level was nearly three times the legal limit. They posted the news on their Twitter page.

Lee wasn’t wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash. He was ejected from the vehicle after being struck by a northbound truck who swerved in an attempt to avoid a crash. Lee was declared dead on the scene. At the time the crash was reported, intoxication was not suspected to be a factor. He was driving a cargo van owned by the liquor store. Inventory of tequila in boxes were being hauled in the back, but it’s unknown if that is was Kenny Lee was drinking.
Kenny Lee‘s death came just months after the his father, Hae Un Lee, died from pancreatic cancer. Hae Un Lee was the founder of Lee’s Discount Liquor. A local liquor distributor in Las Vegas, and was often seen in commercials locally with his son. The two were always sure to deliver a laugh, as their commercials took on a comedic element. Hae Un Lee had been battling the cancer for a year but ultimately succumbed to the disease in August of 2021.
Kenny Lee left behind a wife and three children.
