There is a common misconception about my job. A lot of people think I just talk into a microphone for a few hours a day. And I get it, it's the portion of this job that they see... err, hear. But a huge part of what I do, here at Coyote Country, is put together free concerts for YOU at Gilley's inside the Treasure Island. It's actually one of my most favorite things that I do here. And I feel so honored that I've had the privilege of doing it since starting this job in 2017. Over the years, we've had some truly incredible people play that stage at Gilley's! From exciting newcomers like Breland, last year, to Jackson Dean in 2022. To people who've gone on to have really great careers in the genre like Mitchell Tenpenny and Carly Pearce. And who else remembers that mind blowing Luke Combs show that put the room at capacity in 2017! And man, we've got another great free concert on the way for ya! Join us on Monday, March 18 as we welcome RECORDS Nashville recording artist George Birge to the Gilley's stage! This will not only be another free listener appreciation show, but it'll also be a celebration! We'll be raising a glass to "Mind on You" recently becoming George's first number one single at country radio! [embed]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BcAR9_y3PNM[/embed] For those unfamiliar, the song has a really interesting backstory! When George Birge wrote it, with his good friend Colt Ford, he was in between record deals. The song was then pitched to Jason Aldean, but when George signed his deal with RECORDS Nashville, he asked Jason if he could have it back. Thankfully, Jason gave the song back to George and the rest is history! "Mind on You" officially became George's first number one single on January 1st of this year. George also had the chance to perform the song on The Tonight Show a few weeks ago! What a way to kick off 2024, right? On top of being a really great performer and songwriter, George is just a really great guy! And you can discover that for yourself when he plays Gilley's on March 18th! We'll see you there!
