Man Kills 5 People In ‘Senseless’ North Las Vegas Shooting Spree
A 47-year-old man killed five people in a North Las Vegas apartment complex on June 24.
According to 8 News Now, Eric Adams was the alleged shooter and died by suicide.
NBC News reports that Adams killed five people and critically wounded a 13-year-old girl, who was transported to the hospital and listed in critical condition.
The Las Vegas Sun reported the victims as Kayla Harris, 24, Jeannette Faria-Webster, 22, Damiana Moreno, 59, Amy Damian, 40 and Christopher Damian, 20.
According to NBC, police “found two wounded women who were later pronounced dead, police said. They were in their early 40s and late 50s. . .”
“At a nearby apartment, officials found two other women in their mid 20s and a man in his early 20s who had been shot.”
North Vegas Shooting Spree: Community Devastated
The motive is unclear. But the Associated Press does report that Adams was visiting his former girlfriend.
The girlfriend’s daughter and her partner were also present in the apartment. Adams and his girlfriend started arguing, which somehow led to Adams shooting his girlfriend’s daughter and her partner. He killed them both. A 20-year-old man came down to help, and Adams shot him as well.
“Adams went into the upstairs unit and again opened fire, killing the neighbor’s grandmother and mother and critically wounding his teen sister,” AP reports.
He then kidnapped his girlfriend, who escaped the following day, multiple media sources report.
Eric Adams Had Violent Criminal History, According To Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Records
News 3 reports that Adams’ history with the police department dates back to 1999.
8 News Now further reports that he was taking domestic violence classes. However, his criminal history includes charges of domestic violence such as domestic battery by strangulation. Police also charged him with robbery, beating a woman and murder, which he later was found “not guilty” for
