Azusa Police Arrest 81-Year-Old ‘Serial Slingshot Shooter’
A neighborhood can now be put to ease after the Azusa Police Department arrested an 81-year-old man dubbed the “slingshot shooter,” who has been terrorizing his neighborhood for a decade.
Police arrested Prince King, 81, after having a search warrant in the neighborhood.
According to a statement from Azusa Police Department, a city in the San Gabriel Valley region of Los Angeles County, the department conducted an investigation after responding to a “quality of life issue,” The investigation uncovered dozens of reports from citizens, which said, “During the course of 9-10 years, dozens of citizens were being victimized by a serial slingshot shooter.”
Azusa police said they responded to a “quality of life issue” in the 900 block of North End Avenue and learned that over the last nine to 10 years, “dozens of citizens were being victimized by a serial slingshot shooter.”
Did The Serial Slingshot Shooter Hurt Anyone?
According to Azusa Police Department, the man broke windows, windshields and “almost stuck people with ball bearings.”
The press release from the department states that during the search, officials found slingshots and ball bearings at his home. So, it looks like that this 81-year-old trouble maker had to hang up his weapon.
In the comment section of the department’s Facebook post, people joked about the situation. However, there are some comments illuminating the severity and nuisance of the serial slingshot shooter’s actions.
One comment said, “They broke the back window of my husband’s car, probably the same guy. His dirty hobby cost us $700.”
According to an article by CBS, King’s damages ranged from inflicting BB gun pellet-sized holes to completely shattering windows. However, no one ever reported a direct injury from the slingshot incidents.

According to CBS, the police said they’ve been looking for the suspect ever since the first attack that happened a decade ago. Due to police being unable to identity the suspect, the situation went on for many years.
Well, it now looks like the people living on the 900 block of North End Avenue can now sleep peacefully, knowing that the suspect’s terror has now been put to a stop.
