Blake Shelton Farm Update: ‘You’re Welcome, America’
Blake Shelton may be on TV every Monday and Wednesday night on NBC’s The Voice, but today (9/2), he’s out on his farm in Oklahoma getting some work done with a full beard and a smile on his face.
Blake said in a video he posted this afternoon, “Here’s a farm update for you all, September 22, I put some seed in the ground; the old Kubota is moving the earth. Kevin is driving today; he can be a little selfish sometimes. I can’t blame him when it comes to that tractor. Anyway, that’s the update. You’re welcome, America.”
When the post was just an hour old, it already had almost 5,000 likes. Many fans commented on Shelton’s latest farm video, including one fan who said, “Looking great, Blake. My Dad was a farmer, and I know what hard work it is to run one. Have a great day.” Another fan wrote, “So awesome thanks for the update!! love seeing this process and can’t wait for the next steps!! lol.” One more fan gushed, “Love this. Blake, I’ve never seen Gwen look so happy. You can see it on her face whenever I see you two together. Happy for you both.”
Back in April, Blake planted his corn crop early, saying in a video he posted to Instagram, “I don’t give a crap (points to his tractor) got the old man there behind me, (points to another tractor) Got the new guy. Seeds going in the ground today, people. My dad sold Kubota tractors for quite a few years, right up until he passed away, actually. I bought this one from him in, and I think 2006 or 2007, and it’s still going. I put in some corn with it.”
His buddy and often his fun-poking rival Luke Bryan told People in April that he believed Shelton was “pretend farming.” He joked, “He’s pretend farming. I mean, he’s just putting out like wild grasses — stuff that literally will grow on Mars; I’m actually planting stuff that human beings can enjoy. I’m not feeding a bunch of rabbits and moles and stuff. Blake’s farming earthworms and stuff.”
