Ice Cream Cures Everything
“Life is like an ice cream: Enjoy it before it melts.”
We’ve been under an Excessive Heat Warning in the Las Vegas Valley for several days. So what’s new, right?
It’s 110° in the shade and you’re thinking, I need ice cream! But then the little guy on your shoulder says, “You don’t need this, it’s bad for you!”
But, is it really? Let’s take a look at the facts and let me see if I can convince you to grab a scoop or two this weekend.
Many people much smarter than me with letters after their names, titles and degrees have done the research to back it up. I don’t have any of that. I’m a self appointed Dr. of all things ice cream and I just know ice cream cools you down, calms you down and just makes you feel better. And, you can get it without a prescription!
So let’s take a look at the health benefits of indulging in a little frozen deliciousness.
Vitamins:
Ice cream is a source of many vitamins, including A, B-6, B-12, C, D and E (and a bunch of other letters)!
Energy:
Ice cream is rich with carbohydrates, fats, and proteins, which are all, needed for our bodies to produce energy. And, who doesn’t need more energy?
Minerals:
Good for the body minerals like calcium and phosphorus are found in ice cream.
Brain Stimulation:
Of course we can all use a little brain stimulation and ice cream can do it by increasing the thrombotonin, which is a hormone of happiness and helps in reducing the levels of stress in the body.
“Ice cream is cheaper than therapy.”
It all sounds so Vanilla and boring. But seriously, we can all use more happiness and less stress.
So, as the unofficial Doc of Rock-yroad, the MD of Moose Chips, I say throw some sprinkles to the wind!
Have a double scoop on Saturday and a sundae on Sunday and enjoy your guilty pleasure armed with the knowledge that not only does ice cream make you feel good, but it’s good for you!
And remember, “The best time for ice cream is always”
P.S. I’ve made it easy for you to find the ice cream shop closest to you so you can get there faster! Just click on the map below.
