Chris Hemsworth Donates $1 Million To Australia Wildfire Relief
Thor is asking for your help in combatting the deadly wildfires in Australia. Chris Hemsworth has donated a million dollars to Australia wildfire relief, but he’s also asking fans for assistance.
The Australian actor made the announcement on Instagram. “Like you, I want to support the fight against the bushfires here in Australia,” he wrote. “My family and I are contributing a million dollars. Hopefully, you guys can chip in too.”
In his bio, Hemsworth shared links that would help fans support the relief effort taking place in Australia where bushfires have burned over 12.35 million acres of land. That is twice the size of the state of Maryland, according to ABC News. At least 24 people and as many as 480 million animals have been killed by the fires.
“Every penny counts so whatever you can muster up is greatly appreciated,” Hemsworth wrote, adding, “It really does make a difference, so dig deep!”
Fellow Aussie actors Margot Robbie and Nicole Kidman have also donated money to wildfire relief.
