Jana Kramer Opens Up About Heartbreaking Ordeal She Endured As A Teen
Over the last few weeks, several actresses have come forward after experiencing sexual harassment or unwanted advances. Now, Jana Kramer is sharing her own experience with fans.
During an interview with Yahoo, Kramer admitted she found herself in an uncomfortable situation when she was a teenager.
At the very beginning of her acting career, Kramer enlisted the help of her first manager to help her land an acting gig.
After she was cast in her first film, her manager at the time used the role as a way to try to get the country music star to “pay him back.”
She recalls thinking she was going to have to sleep with her manager in order to continue to get acting gigs.
The realization of such an inappropriate request proved to be emotionally taxing on Jana, who was 19 years old at the time.
Back then, Kramer thought she had no other choice but to quit acting and give up on her dreams. After phoning her mother, Jana regained her composure and found a new manager to help her pursue her dreams.
Judging by the long list of roles she has landed in films and shows, in addition to her country music career, it’s safe to say Jana persevered despite being in such an unfortunate situation early on in her career.
