The Amazon Prime logo is displayed on the side of an Amazon delivery truck

Attention all Amazon Prime Day drivers: beware of unexpected encounters on your delivery routes. In a bizarre incident near Allentown, Pennsylvania, a 30-year-old Amazon Driver was going about her Amazon Flex deliveries when she found herself face-to-face with a shocking situation.

It’s a Common Thing

As part of the Amazon Flex program, she was using her own car to deliver packages, a common practice for many drivers. Little did she know that one of her stops would lead her to a magnificent 14,000 square-foot mansion sitting on a sprawling 72-acre estate. The owner? None other than a 70-year-old media tycoon named Steven Saslow.

The encounter took a terrifying turn when she arrived at the mansion’s security gate. Mr. Saslow, seemingly skeptical of her affiliation with Amazon due to her choice of transportation—a 2019 Dodge minivan—decided to take matters into his own hands. Shockingly, he emerged from the property brandishing a short-barrel shotgun, pointing it directly at her.

In a desperate attempt to diffuse the situation, the delivery driver raised her hands and revealed that her two children were in the back of the van. Despite her plea and the presence of innocent children, Mr. Saslow maintained his aggressive stance, snatching the package from her and instructing her to leave his property immediately.

A Thankful Ending

Thankfully, the shaken Amazon driver managed to leave the premises unharmed and promptly reported the alarming incident to the authorities. As a result, Mr. Saslow now faces charges for reckless endangerment.

This shocking encounter serves as a reminder that even in the midst of seemingly routine deliveries, unexpected and dangerous situations can arise. It’s a testament to the importance of maintaining safety and treating one another with respect, regardless of our positions or perceived differences. Let this incident be a cautionary tale and a call for empathy and understanding in our interactions, especially during the hustle and bustle of events like Amazon Prime Day.
