Cowboy Channel Cowboy Christmas Day Number 7
Program Director and Midday Star, Shawn Stevens, interviewed Billboard's Top New Country Artist of 2021, Lainey Wilson, at the NFR Central Stage sponsored by Resorts World Las Vegas. They talked about Lainey's return to Vegas, her early days as a PRCA Rodeo Flag Girl, and her new music! We found out that the Louisiana native was lucky enough to have three tracks featured on the American drama television series, Yellowstone. The highly watched western lifestyle series featured,"Workin' Overtime", "Small Town, Girl," and "Straight Up, Sideways."
Lainey performed a few tracks for listeners at Cowboy Christmas and they couldn't have enjoyed it more. She sang her first chart topping song, "Things A Man Oughta Know" which sent listeners in song. She landed her first number one song late last year on the US Country Airplay chart. Wilson has been working hard on her career and we're excited about her current chart success. Most recently, she teamed up with Cole Swindell on their duet, "Never Say Never" which we believe will become her next chart topper. Wilson says, "I've been preparing for the race, I finally entered it and now I'm about to run it." Her goal for 2022, is to meet new fans that she hasn't been able to meet yet. She is ready to play more shows and will be able to live out that dream opening for Jason Aldean on his "Back in the Saddle Tour." You can see them LIVE in Vegas at the Dolby LIVE Theater at Park MGM on December 9th, 10th and 11. We're excited to see what is next from Lainey Wilson.
Shawn Stevens will be broadcasting LIVE from Cowboy Christmas for another three days at booth number #2945. If you haven't made it out, please do! We would love to see you.
COMING UP: Warner Music Nashville recording artist, Ian Munsick will be visiting the NFR Central Wrangler Stage on Friday, December 10th at 11:00AM followed by the Rodeo Flag Girls signing autographs at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, December 11th, we wrap up the entertainment with Big Machine Label Group recording star, Riley Green performing at 11:00AM.
