The Biggest Las Vegas Cinco de Mayo Celebration Is Happening Downtown

The most spectacular Las Vegas Cinco de Mayo celebration is happening downtown at The Plaza Hotel & Casino! The property is gearing up to host the fiesta starting at 4 p.m. on Sunday, May 5.

According to the Plaza’s press team, they’re aiming to make this their biggest party ever, taking place in and around the iconic Carousel Bar!

They’re calling the Plaza’s “Cinco de Drinko,” and it’ll be free/open for everyone to attend! If you go to the party this year, you can look forward to an array of entertainment! Including live music from Mariachi singers and a DJ spinning some fun Latin dance music! There will also be performances from Folklorico dancers from all around the Las Vegas valley!

For those unaware of what Folklorico is, it’s a Spanish dance where the women wear these amazing flowing dresses. It’s almost mesmerizing how their clothing moves during the dance. It’s gorgeous and it’s part of a truly beautiful culture!

Another thing that attendees can get excited about is they can take part in the festivities with downtown’s largest piñata.

According to the Plaza’s press release, there will also be a photo house on location, so you and your friends can capture all the memories that the flowing tequila might make you forget!

In fact, the Carousel Bar will be serving up a variety of Mexican cocktails throughout the night! Including the usual suspects like margaritas, micheladas, beer from Modelo and Tequila shots!

In terms of food, there will be plenty of options for you to indulge in! Fresh Mexican Grill will be on location with street tacos and Mexican street corn salad. I’m a huge fan of authentic Churros, so you’ll for sure see me trying out the freshly made ones from Churros 101.

If churros aren’t your thing, perhaps doughnuts are! Local favorite, Pinkbox Doughnuts will also be at the party, offering Cinco de Mayo themed treats!
