Las Vegas Room Rates Plummet Right Before Super Bowl Weekend
You know what they say, good things come to those who wait! And for anyone who has waited until the last minute to book a trip to Las Vegas for the Big Game, it might just pay off! Especially when it comes to saving money on room rates!
Las Vegas Room Rates Have Plummeted
Just days before Super Bowl 58 between the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers, reports are indicating that Las Vegas room rates have plummeted substantially. According to a report by The Review Journal, room rates in the Las Vegas valley at Motels and Hotels have dropped an estimated 35 percent since mid-January.
The most current rates, taken yesterday (Feb 8, 2024), showed a new average nightly rate of $288.82. Which is a pretty significant drop when you compare it to the average rates from three weeks ago. Back then, the average room rate was $443.84. And just last week, the average rate was $403.09.
Rates, of course, fluctuate over time. Plus, they can change due to the obvious supply and demand that lead up to major events like the Super Bowl.
How Were The Rates Calculated?
We should mention how these averages were calculated. They were based on published prices from Hotels.com and they didn’t include resort fees or additional taxes. If you’ve ever booked a room on the Las Vegas strip, you know that both of those can add up fairly quickly.
However, even when you factor in and consider those additional costs, the current rates still appear to have a significant discount compared to previous rates.

Regardless, any savings is a good thing for people coming to Las Vegas. The dollars saved on rooms can give tourists more opportunities to pass those savings onto other experiences, shows and activities — There’s no doubt, Super Bowl weekend will give the Las Vegas economy a massive boost.
