Darius Rucker To Compete In Madden NFL Bowl
Darius Rucker is one of country music’s most passionate football fans. This guy breathes football. While he is looking forward to this weekend’s Super Bowl, tonight (2/9), Darius plays in the Madden NFL Bowl (video game) along with Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill.
Rucker will also perform a late-night set for NFL executives and participants, along with Green Day, Big Boi, BRELAND, and Killer Mike.
He told us of his game plan this evening (2/9), “My strategy is to play man-to-man defense and try to run the ball a little to try to slow the game down. You know, a lot of guys come on and just throw it around, and that’s a great way to play, but I like to run it a little bit, see what happens, and then maybe you can break something big.”
He added, “I love Madden. It’s one of my favorite things. I’ve been playing since Madden 1, so it’s great to be playing the Madden Bowl again.”
A champion will be crowned at the event tonight (2/9) in Las Vegas at the House of Blues.

As for the actual Super Bowl LVIII on Sunday (2/11), Darius told us, “The Chiefs and the 49ers are gonna be a great game. The funny thing is I don’t know who I think is going to win right now. The Chiefs have so much experience and have been there four out of the last six years and have done great things, but the 9ers are playing such great football also, so I don’t know who’s gonna win, but I hope for a great game.”
Super Bowl LVIII, featuring the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers, will be played at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on Sunday, February 11. It will air live on CBS.
