These Exciting Things Are Happening In December
And POOF! Just like that, we’ve made it to the month of December. Man, this year has gone by way too quickly. But hey, there are tons of incredible things happening this month! Here are some that I’m most excited for.
Sports Galore: Of course, here in Las Vegas, December means rodeo action! The Wrangler National Final Rodeo kicks off on Thursday, December 7th! And there are going to be so many events/concerts in Las Vegas during those 10 days. December also marks the start of college football’s bowl games. With the first batch kicking off on December 16th.
Movie Mania: There are a ton of movies hitting streaming services and theaters this month! When I turned on my FireTv today, I was greeted with an ad for Eddie Murphy’s holiday movie, “Candy Cane Lane.” The movie is streaming on Prime Video starting today.
If you’re a Swiftie but haven’t been able to see this in theaters, mark your calendars for “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour” available on-demand from December 13th.
On Netflix, there’s a new Julia Roberts thriller called “Leave the World Behind” that’s coming next Friday.
There’s plenty hitting theaters too: “Wonka” with Timothée Chalamet opens on the 15th, “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom” and “Migration” arrive on the 22nd, and two big ones land on Christmas Day: “Ferrari” starring Adam Driver and the new musical version of “The Color Purple.”
TV Treats: It’s binge-watching time! I, personally, never got into “The Crown” on Netflix, but I know a ton of people who love it! If you’re one of them, the final 6 episodes will be available starting December 14th.
Over on Disney+, you’ll see three new “Doctor Who” specials, with one premiering tomorrow and another next Saturday. I also believe we’ll be introduced to the “New Doctor” during one of the episodes.
There’s a load of holiday specials too, like “The Great British Baking Show: Holidays” and the National Christmas Tree Lighting special on CBS, happening December 15th.
Holiday Highlights: Mark your calendars for Christmas, Hanukkah (from the 7th to the 15th), and the start of Kwanzaa on December 26th.
National Cookie Day is next Monday, National Ice Cream Day on the 13th, Ugly Sweater Day on the 15th, the official beginning of winter on December 21st, Festivus on the 23rd, and finally, saying goodbye to 2023 on New Year’s Eve, December 31st.
