Riley Green Speaks On His Admiration For Alabama’s Greatest Hits
Riley Green not only knows about releasing good country music, but he also knows it when he hears it. When asked what album he has recently listened to front to back, it was Alabama’s For The Record: 41 Number One Hits.

Green shared his thoughts on the record, which was released as a two-disc set with 41 of the band’s greatest hits from 1980 to 1998. He talked about his friendship with Alabama’s lead singer Randy Owen, who, like Green, is an alumnus of Jacksonville State University in Alabama. Reflecting on Owen’s successes inspired Green and what he hopes comes of his music career one day.
“Like from a learning standpoint, that’s what’s really impressive to me because there is a lot about this. It gets a little monotonous. You play the same songs every week and to think about bringing that same energy in, to really think about it’s somebody’s first show to hear… and for those guys to have a career like that was awesome. So yeah, that album,” Green explained.
The band consisting of Owen, Jeff Cook, Teddy Gentry, and Mark Herndon has released 26 albums to date. Among Alabama’s No. 1 hits are “Tennessee River,” “Mountain Music,” “Why Lady Why,” “How Do You Fall In Love,” and “Forever’s As Far As I’ll Go.”
Green is fresh off the release of his sophomore album, Ain’t My Last Rodeo. The country singer’s 12-track collection features “Different ‘Round Here” featuring Luke Combs and his collaboration with Jelly Roll, “Copenhagen In A Cadillac.”
The multi-platinum singer-songwriter will hit the road starting in February for his headlining 2024 Ain’t My Last Rodeo Tour. Green has enlisted Tracey Lawrence to support him across select dates and Ella Langley across all dates.
