Miranda Lambert’s New Song Was Written By The ‘Love Junkies’
Miranda Lambert recently teamed up with some of her Nashville songwriter friends, The Love Junkies. The Love Junkies are made up of three of country’s best songwriters: Lori McKenna, Liz Rose, and Hillary Lindsey.
Lambert just released a new song called “Driving Back There In My Mind,” written by the trio for a project called Lost & Found, which spotlights unreleased tracks written by some of the best songwriters in Nashville and re-recorded by today’s most prominent artists.
Lambert said on a recent podcast that the song was a natural fit for her. She posted a photo of herself with the trio on Instagram recently. She captioned the post in part, “These ladies are the “Love Junkies.” @lorimckennama , @lizrose0606 & @ifiwerehillarylindsey. Three of Nashville’s best songwriters. We wrote a lot of songs on ‘Wildcard’ together.”
In the same interview, Miranda talked about writing songs with Nashville native Jelly Roll. She said she met Jelly Roll just because they had a co-write, adding, “Now I just love him to death.” Lambert noted that when you spend six to seven hours writing a song with someone in a room, “You really get to know each other on an intimate level.” She said that she always feels “honored” when other songwriters and artists ask to write with her.

Before Ashley McBryde, was a headliner, she opened for Miranda Lambert on the 2018 “Living Like Hippies” tour. Jon Pardi was also on the tour. It began on January 18, 2018, in Greenville, South Carolina, and ended on June 17, 2018, in Grand Junction, Colorado.
McBryde told me about the tour after it kicked off. She said of her tour boss at the time, “She was so good to us. Every night, we had a gift. The first night, we had onesies, so Jon Pardi got a dinosaur outfit, I got a teddy bear outfit, and Miranda had a unicorn.”
