I would always drive as far as I could on a tank of gas before stopping. You too? Well, not any more.
Tuesday morning (3/8), I decided to stop to get gas on the way to work even though I had about a quarter tank left before running dry.
When I got to the studio, $57.00 later, I told Jeff & Aimee that I had stopped before work instead of after work because I felt like the gas prices were going up so fast that it would probably cost more if I waited 8 hours. I think I was right!
As you can see on the receipt, the price I paid per gallon at 8:14 Tuesday morning at Smith’s at Durango and Sahara was $4.75 (after a .03 discount = $4.72 gal.) The very next morning, the price had jumped 10 cents to $4.85 a gallon! Crazy!
I decided to do some research and found a great tool for saving money. GasBuddy.com is a website/mobile app designed to make it easier for all of us to find the cheapest gas prices in our area, no matter where you’re located.
