Post Malone Reveals His Daughter Saved His Life
Post Malone has been teasing and releasing songs with country superstars for a few months now, leading up to his F-1 Trillion country album, which will be out on Friday (8/16).
There is one song on the project that is not a duet with a country star. It’s a song called “Yours,” and he wrote it as a tribute to his two-year-old daughter. He says his daughter, whose name or date of birth he has never revealed to the public, saved his life.
Malone told CBS Sunday Morning, “That’s true. Her and her mom. Four years ago, I was on a rough path. He said that “demons” he was fighting came from “loneliness,” even though he was already a big music star.
Post told CBS if his day-to-day at the time, “Getting up, having a good cry, drinking and then going and living your life. And then whenever you go lay down, drinking some more and having a good cry. And [thinking], ‘I gotta wake up tomorrow and do this again.'”
However, his life changed when his wife and daughter came into his life. He said, “I don’t feel like that anymore, and it’s the most amazing thing,” The superstar added that he “needed to” experience that hardship “to figure out who I am.”
Malone also tells CBS Sunday Morning that “Yours” is just one of the many songs he’s written for his daughter. The song’s subject matter — the idea of her getting married one day — is something that’s often on his mind.
