Thomas Rhett Pushes Back On ‘Casserole Overload’
Thomas Rhettās family, which includes his four young daughters and wife, Lauren, always has big family gatherings for every holiday, including Thanksgiving. There is never a shortage of food at their family get-togethers, and in fact, Thomas says theyāve tried to cut back on the number of casseroles that show up on the Thanksgiving table.
Rhett told us in a recent interview, “My wife was on the phone with her grandmother, and the conversation made me laugh ācause she was like, āHey, this year we donāt need a casserole overload.ā Like, grandmothers are so good at casseroles, but they bring like 50 of them. You know what I mean?”
The country star added, “Itās like 19 versions of a green bean casserole and a sweet potato casserole, and my kids, all they want is just macaroni and cheese. And then we have to like force ham and turkey down their throat. Itās like, āHey, you need protein, you know, before you eat every bit of sweet that your grandmother made.ā So, itās always a struggle.”

Rhett and Best New Artist GRAMMY Awards nominee Teddy Swims are teaming up for a new version of “Somethin’ āBout a Woman.” The song was first released in August on Thomas’ About A Woman album as a solo song.
Thomas adds Teddy Swimsā signature vocals to the song, making it a duet. Rhett said of the new collaboration, “This collaboration has been something Iāve been wanting to do for a while now. Teddy and I first met through our producer Julian Bunetta back in 2020, and it was pretty much instant musical chemistry.”
He added, “I sang on his song āBrokeā and then we ended up writing āAngels (Donāt Always Have Wings)ā in under an hour. Iāve been wanting to release something with him again ever since, and his voice on this song is insane.”
Teddy Swims commented, “Been waiting to release this song with Thomas Rhett for a while!! He has been in my corner since day one, so when he called me to join him on ‘Somethinā ‘Bout a Woman,’ it was a no-brainer. Itās an honor to join him on this trackāheās a legend. I love you, big bro!”
They performed the song on the 58th Annual CMA Awards earlier this month (11/20), where they mashuped “Somethin’ āBout a Womanā with Swimsā history-making Billboard Hot 100 Number One “Lose Control.”
