Kelsea Ballerini Will ‘Probably’ Try This Soon
Kelsea Ballerini is a natural on TV and a great host. She hosted the CMT Music Awards for several years in a row before bowing out, saying the 2024 hosting gig was her last for CMT. And, of course, she's joining The Voice as a judge next year.
While she shines in front of the camera, Kelsea has always stayed away from and not accepted offers to go into acting, the profession of her boyfriend, Chase Stokes.
In a new interview, Ballerini said when asked about going Hollywood, “I always said a hard ‘no’ to acting. Like, hard ‘no.’ I said ‘no’ because I’m so scared of failing. It’s just the perfectionist in me,”
Reese Witherspoon, who is a good friend of Kelsea, has even tried to push her friend into acting, but the movie’s star encouragement fell flat. Until now.
The country singer says that in the last few years, she has “started running towards things that really terrify me,” so she noted that she’ll “probably try it.”
Kelsea did not say in the interview what TV role or movie she would consider, and when asked who she would most like to play, she replied, “I would like to play me. That’d be fun.”

In March, Ballerini said she wanted to spread her wings a bit in her career, including acting, in the near future. However, Kelsea told Flaunt Magazine that she will not appear on her boyfriend Chase Stokes’s Netflix show Outer Banks for one reason.
Kelsea said, “When it comes to my relationship, there’s a beautiful level of him showing up on tour, or at my respective award shows, and me getting to go to set and showing up to his events, where we just get to [be] each other’s support system in person. That, to me, feels really safe.”
Ballerini added that she finally has the confidence to “ask myself, ‘What else?'” In addition to pursuing acting, she noted that she wants to pursue other creative avenues, which she believes will help her evolve as a person.
As her star continues to rise and the interest in her personal life grows, she admitted that she is working on protecting her privacy. She says she doesn’t have it “figured out yet.” One thing she prides herself in is being herself and being authentic. She feels most at home hanging out with her dog, Dibs, in Nashville. She says being normal helps her to feel a bit safer in the “shift of eyeballs” and the “shift of people” wanting to know what’s going on with her.
She concludes that she feels the need to be a little bit more “self-preserved” than she ever has.
