Pivot! Pivot! Friends Experience Is Coming To Las Vegas
A new Friends experience is coming to Las Vegas and it reminded me of something mildly embarrassing. Mind if I share it with you? Before I made radio my career, I really wanted to be a screen writer for TV and movies. I even penned a storyline for the TV show “Friends” that involved Rachel accidentally getting the best kiss of her life from Gunther, the barista from the “Central Perk” coffeehouse.
Long story short, the whole story arc would’ve taken a few episodes and it would have wrapped up with Gunther finally getting over his obsession with Rachel. I always thought his character deserved a better send off. Even more so after seeing how the show actually ended his arc in season 10. Unfortunately, I was just a teenager when I wrote it and I had zero idea how to pitch it to the television studios! So now, it just lives in my brain.
The reason I bring up “Friends” is because Las Vegas is set to become the home of a new Friends Exhibit to celebrate the show’s 30th anniversary! Fans of the iconic series will have yet another reason to visit our city.
According to a report by 8 News Now, it’ll be called “The Friends Experience: The One in Vegas” and it’s scheduled to open later in the year at the MGM Grand. According to their report, the exhibit sounds like it’s going to be a pretty legit experience for fans on the show, which will even feature recreated sets from the show.
Which Iconic Sets Will The Friends Experience Feature?
The folks at Travel & Leisure also covered the story, and they’re saying that the new exhibit will include a bunch of the show’s famous settings. Such as the Central Perk coffeehouse, Chandler and Joey’s place, complete with their famous recliners, and even Monica’s apartment. T&L even mentions that fans can reenact Ross and Rachel’s wedding scene at a Las Vegas wedding chapel.

Of course, merchandise will be made available too! You’ll be able to take home a Central Perk mug or even a jar of Monica’s breakup jam.
The Friends Experience will also include a store offering an array of themed merchandise, from Central Perk mugs to Monica’s Strawberry Breakup Jam, ensuring visitors can take a piece of the experience home with them.
