Atomic Golf Announces Layoffs 2 Months After Grand Opening
I’m a member of a couple Las Vegas bartending pages on Facebook, and for the last few weeks there have been rumors about impending layoffs at the newly opened Atomic Golf, here in Las Vegas. Of course, most of us in the groups were hoping that the rumors were just that – rumors – but unfortunately, we’re learning today that the recently opened driving range experience has laid off a portion of its staff, just months after the venue celebrated its grand opening.
Did Atomic Golf Hire Too Many People?
Some people in the group, who will remain anonymous because of the page’s private status, believe that the layoffs were inevitable because of how many people got hired. Before opening Atomic Golf, the venue announced that they were seeking to fill over 500 full-time and part-time positions within the local company, according to a report by channel 3.
I truly hate this news. As someone who’d been a part of company layoffs, you never want these kinds of things to be real. You hate seeing people lose their jobs and feel uncertain about their future and I truly hope everyone lands back on their feet as soon as possible.
Atomic Golf Confirms That Layoffs Have Recently Happened
According to a report by News 3 (KSNV – Las Vegas) they spoke to a representative from the venue and the person did confirm that there have been recent layoffs at Atomic Golf Las Vegas. The representative said, “We appreciate the dedication and contributions of all our employees and extend out gratitude to those who have been impacted.” However, they didn’t disclose exactly how many people were affected by the layoffs.
Seen as a spot that could directly compete with Top Golf, Atomic Golf has only been open for a couple months, celebrating its grand opening on March 22nd. And if you’ve been to the new venue, you know it’s a gorgeous property! According to the description on Atomic Golf’s website, their venue is over 99,000 square feet of electrified and animated fun where the best elements of the game fuse together with great food, colorful drinks, and an engaging atmosphere. They have over 100 golfing bays, multiple full-service bars, a lounge, and they even have what they call an “Astrocade” for watching sports.
