The annual Consumer Electronics Show (CES) has kicked off in Las Vegas and will continue until Friday. However, some media outlets were able to get a sneak peak at some of the new gadgets earlier this week. And let me tell you, some of this new tech is going to change the world, while some is going to make you scratch your head.
The Future Is Now
Apparently, in the not too distant future you'll be able to ask your smart speaker to clean your tush. There's a new voice-activated bidet that works with your Alexa devices. It begs the question: is this peak laziness or the next step in human evolution? I'll let you decide, but for the low-low price of $1289 (sarcasm, of course) you can snatch up the PUREWASH E930 and have the cleanest backside on your street.
If AI powered butt cleaners aren't your thing, there were also a few more unusual gadgets that caught our attention:
How bout a see-through television? Because LG has unveiled one. It's called the "OLED T." The "T" stands for "transparent." When it's turned off, you can see right through it. LG claims that removing the bulky black screen makes the whole room feel more spacious. But I can imagine a lot of businesses utilizing this kind of technology as part of their window advertising. As for pricing, according to an article by Gizmodo, LG says it'll be "very expensive."
Have Your Cake And Eat It Too... In 4 Minutes
The next gadget sounds like it's coming straight out of the movie "Back to the Future Part II." It's from a company called Sevvy and they introduced a new oven that promises to be as fast as a microwave. According to a CNET article, the company says their device doesn't leave meats with that rubbery texture associated with microwaves. Even more surprising, Sevvy claims you can also bake in their device. Quickly too. They claim you can make a cake in under four minutes.
And finally, if you have a cat who likes to gift you dead critters, two brothers from Switzerland have developed something to help with that. It's a new cat door called Flappie and it's designed to prevent cats from bringing dead animals (mice or birds) into your home. The Flappie uses artificial intelligence to detect a dead animal in your pet's mouth and will refuse entry until they drop it. This device is expected to be sold at $399.
