Our CMA Awards host Jeff Kurkjian, jumped right in by asking Wilson about her recently announced 2024 Country’s Cool Again Tour with special guests Jackson Dean, Ian Munsick, and Zack Top who she says is “country to the bone.”
Wilson is scheduled to perform on more than 35 dates across North America next year and will start things off at the Ascend Amphitheater in Nashville, Tennessee on May 31.
Over the last year and a half, the “Heart Like A Truck” singer has experienced a lot of life changes, all while becoming one of the biggest names in country music.
“Hey, you speak it, you believe it. I know it’s been wild. I will say I’ve been here in Nashville for a little over 12 and a half years, but it does seem like once things finally started clicking and working, it was like I was just trying to hold on for dear life. And that’s the way it’s been but it’s been fun,” Wilson said.
“If I had not spent the 12 years in this town like I have. I don’t know if I had enough of a story to tell. You know, you live and you grow and you learn and that’s what you write about,” Wilson added.
Wilson will hit the stage tonight at the 2023 CMA Awards to perform her fan-favorite track “Wildflowers and Wildhorses.” Country Music’s Biggest Night will air live from Nashville at 8/7c on ABC hosted by Luke Bryan and Peyton Manning.
