Jordan Davis: The Solid Advice He Never Forgot
Jordan Davis recently celebrated a number one song (“What My World Spins Around”), making it five songs he’s brought to the top of the country charts, and that is not an easy feat. Jordan has been in Nashville working on his dream for years; he told us what the best advice he ever got was.
Davis told us, “I got the best piece of advice I got in a very long time. It was probably two or three years into being in Nashville that I still love today, which was, ‘Comparison is the theft of all joy.’ I truly took that to heart.” He added, “I’m not saying that I don’t fall victim to that sometimes, but I still truly try to always go back to that. If I ever catch myself looking at another artist, other writers, or whatever, I try to kind of remind myself of that.”
Jordan knows how blessed he is to be living his country music dreams. He also knows he didn’t do it all by himself. Davis said, “I’m very grateful, very blessed, but I’ve also truly had a lot of help. It takes an army, so I’m very grateful for the success, but it’s not just me. A lot of people have helped me get here.”

Jordan recently announced his headlining “Damn Good Time Tour,” which kicks off this August (8/31) in Atlanta at the Roxy before heading to Nashville on Labor Day weekend (9/1), Philadelphia (10/5), New York (10/6) and Boston (10/7) before wrapping in Las Vegas in October (10/21). Tour openers include Avery Anna, Gabby Barrett, Danielle Bradberry, Flatland Calvary, Greylan James, Dylan Marlowe, Kameron Marlowe, Mike Ryan, Connor Smith, and Georgia Webster.
Before he headlines his own tour, he is touring as part of Dierks Bentley’s “Gravel & Gold Tour.” He told us of his buddy Dierks, “When I grow up, I want to be Dierks Bentley. (laughs) I know I’ve made that joke before, but like I just love that guy to death. I feel like I know, not just Dierks; I know his band pretty well. Dan, his fiddle guy, I’ve known for longer than I’ve known Dierks. More importantly like, it’s a master class. That band is so good. Dierks is an entertainer to the nth degree, and just really, really great people, and this job gets tough, and being on the road with really good people makes it a little bit easier.”
