Reba Still Washes And Reuses Plastic Solo Cups
Reba recently appeared on the Today Show to talk about her upcoming book, Not That Fancy, which includes many of her family recipes and about entertaining guests at the dinner table and beyond.
Reba talked about her favorite kind of party, saying, “We talk (about) family, friends, how to throw a party that’s not so fancy. That’s my kinda party. You know, I don’t really care if everything matches.” She revealed that she’s pretty casual when it comes to party hosting and planning and still pretty thrifty. She said, “Sometimes I ask to use real plates instead of paper plates. But I love Solo cups. I think that’s the main message of the book — don’t not have a party because everything doesn’t look right, or you didn’t have time to get this ready. Just go have fun.”

She loves the Solo plastic party cups. Reba offered, “I got that from Mama. At Thanksgiving, everybody wrote their name with a magic marker on their Solo cup, and that way, you didn’t have to waste a lotta cups gettin’ a new one, and you knew which one was yours. And next Thanksgiving, you look for your cup ’cause it’s still there.”
Reba admitted proudly, “I still wash Solo cups.”
The new ranch-inspired book’s full title is Not That Fancy: Simple Lessons On Living, Loving, Eating, and Dusting Off Your Boots. It will be released on October 10. The book will include over 50 recipes for complete meals, desserts, cocktails, and more from Reba’s family traditions.
It will also include exclusive photographs and never-before-told stories of Reba’s personal and professional life — from ranching with her Daddy to pranks on the road and falling in love and some lighthearted lifestyle tips. The book will be available as a hardcover, digital, and audiobook.
