Reba: Could She Replace Blake Shelton On ‘The Voice’?
NBC’s The Voice released a four-minute plus promo on the new Mega Mentor on the show, Reba McEntire. Some in the industry are starting to wonder if she will be Blake Shelton’s replacement on the show when he leaves after this season. Reba joined the show as Mega Mentor on Monday (4/17), and by the looks of the promo, she is making everyone emotional. Kelly Clarkson says in the promo, “This is the raddest Mega Mentor we have ever had.” Contestants on the show are gushing over Reba’s presence, and one contestant even said, “I’m pretending that I don’t have to pee my pants right now.”
Clarkson said that she loved Reba being on the show because her ex-mother-in-law helped her in the same capacity to grow as an artist. She said, “It’s cool to watch her do that for other people as well.” Reba says of Kelly, noting that they met in 2002 when “she was just a baby.” She gushed, “She has matured into this wonderful woman that I am just so proud of.”
Reba herself tears up in the promo talking to one contestant, telling them that they need to make her feel what they are singing about. She tells him, “You need to feel it.”

Every coach talks about McEntire, including Niall Horan and Chance The Rapper, who calls her a legend.
When asked by one contestant what the best advice Reba ever received was, she counted on her fingers, “Show up on time, be prepared, and don’t waste anybody’s time.” Blake said of her, “Having Reba here, it’s just familiar territory because we’ve worked together a lot over the years.”
The promo ends with the country icon saying, “I study people’s performances, and I want to be touched when they’re singing to me.”
