The Super Mario Bros. Movie Receives Mixed Reviews Ahead of Release
The highly anticipated Super Mario Bros. movie is set to hit theaters on April 5th, and the reviews are already pouring in. While some critics are giving it high praise, others are not so impressed.
According to The Verge, the movie sets “the new gold standard for video game films,” while Deadline calls it “immensely likable and loaded with laughs.” Game Informer describes it as “joyful, fun, exciting, and respectful of the source material,” and The AV Club notes that it is “an Easter egg-filled adventure built for Nintendo fans.”
However, not all reviews have been positive. As of now, the movie has a 46% rating on RottenTomatoes.com. Despite this, fans of the Super Mario Bros. franchise are still excited to see the film adaptation and make their own judgments.
As for the best video game movies, opinions vary, but some popular choices include the original Mortal Kombat, Tomb Raider, and Sonic the Hedgehog. On the other hand, some of the worst video game movies include Super Mario Bros. (1993), Street Fighter, and Alone in the Dark.
