The NHL Goes Animated For New York Rangers Vs. Washington Capitals Game
The NHL has partnered with The Disney Channel to give views something different! In an attempt to introduce the game of hockey to a new audience, the New York Rangers game vs. The Washington Capitals was broadcasted in animation!
The NFL did something similar with the animations on screen with Nickelodeon, but it was actual game footage with animations added. This game was completely animated and live with the actual game! What was actually happening on the ice was what was happening on The Disney Channel!
The hockey world is expanding more and more! This team up probably sparked something they will most likely continue doing in the future!
While the game was at Madison Square Garden, on The Disney Channel, they were playing the NHL Big City Greens Classic! On top of the games live play by play, the game showed player stats and added animations when goals were scored or pucks were stolen!

If you were a young kid flipping through the channels, this definitely made you stop scrolling! It’s almost like watching a video game! Something younger audiences who don’t know the sport would probably watch!
Will we get to see the Vegas Golden Knights in this animated greatness soon? I sure hope so! Check out highlights from both broadcasts!
