Rascal Flatts’ Joe Don Rooney Blames Deer For DUI Crash
It’s hasn’t been a good couple of months for Rascal Flatts’ Joe Don Rooney, who was pulled over and given a DUI near Nashville in September. Now TMZ is reporting that in a police affidavit, Rooney told cops he was driving his BMW at around 4 AM when a deer ran out in front of him.
Per TMZ, “Cops say Rooney blamed the deer for causing him to veer off-road and crash into some trees, which deployed his airbags.”
However, the police report also stated that Rooney smelled like booze. The officer says the country star admitted to “one more than I should have.”
Rooney, according to the report, also did fail several field sobriety tests.
As we reported, Rooney was arrested after being pulled over and taken to the county jail where he was booked on a misdemeanor DUI charge. He was later released after posting a $2,500 bond.
