Miranda Lambert Responds To ‘Tiger King’ Post Backlash
Miranda Lambert posted pictures of herself with Tiger King‘s Joe Exotic yesterday (4/13) and joked about meeting him a few years back hashtagging the post “#waytooprettyforprison.” This upset some fans, as Lambert has been a great advocate for dogs via her Muttnation foundation; the fact that she was palling around with someone who has been accused of abusing tigers rubbed some the wrong way.
Lambert responded giving some background to the photos.
She wrote on Twitter that the photos were taken when she and her Muttnation foundation went to Houston to help with relocating shelter dogs after Hurricane Harvey and “some guy maned Joe volunteered his trailer and staff ” to help relocate the animals and that turned out to be the now-infamous Joe Exotic.
She added that she didn’t even know the guy had a zoo or cats. She wrote “Obviously, I would never condone animals being treated badly.”
