Brad Paisley Joins Riley Green For ‘I Wish Grandpas Never Died’
Brad Paisley loves Riley Green’s new song “I Wish Grandpa Never Died” so much he asked Riley to join him in stage over the weekend to sing it.
One fan captured the performance on video where Brad said, “I’m in awe, I love your new song and I thought I’d like to play it with you. He just came out with this and I want to be a backup guitarist for you on this.” To which Riley replied, “This is a nobody from Alabama playing a song of his that I wrote with two friends with Brad Paisley.”
The song’s lyrics go, “I wish high school home teams never lost and I wish and back road drinking kids never got caught / and I wish the price of gas was low and cotton was high. I wish honky tonks never had no closing time / and I wish Grandpas never died.”
Riley posted last week on Instagram, “My buddy @bradpaisley did a cover of my new song “I Wish Grandpas Never Died”, let’s see if anybody can top this…. post your cover and use the hashtag #IWishGrandpasNeverDied and I’ll check ‘em out! ••• #CountryMusic #IWishGrandpasNeverDied”
