Brothers Osborne on their Grammy Nominations: ‘This Is Insane’
The Brothers Osborne have been Grammy darlings for a few years now.
The brothers were first nominated in 2016 for Best Country Duo/Group Performance for “Stay a Little Longer.” Then in 2017, they were nominated in the same category for “21 Summer” and in 2018 for “It Ain’t My Fault.”
This year at the 61stAnnual Grammy Awards on February 10, the duo is up for Best Country Duo/Group Performance for “Shoot Me Straight” and in the coveted Best Country Album category for their album Port St. Joe.
“Being nominated for a GRAMMY is genuinely something you dream of as a kid,” John Osborne tells us. “When you’re sitting in your room learning to play a guitar solo for the umpteenth-jillionth time. You think of yourself like, ‘I want to be on stage one day. I want to be nominated or win a GRAMMY,’ but to you it’s just a dream. It’s like, ‘It probably won’t happen,’ then all of a sudden you wake up and you’re like, ‘We literally just got nominated for a GRAMMY, and this is insane.”
To make life even sweeter, the guys are currently sitting in the Top 2 on the Billboard Country Airplay charts this week with their collaboration with buddy Dierks Bentley, “Burning Man.”
The guys are currently touring as part of Bentley’s Burning Man Tour.
