U2’s Concert Nod To Dierks Bentley
What’s the proper reaction when one of world’s most famous rock bands covers your song in concert? Well, if you’re Dierks Bentley, shock.
U2 did exactly that with part of Dierks’ “Drunk On A Plane” at a recent concert in New Orleans as the band performed their own “Beautiful Day.” And when Dierks came across a fan-posted video of the moment on social media, he immediately shared it with fans.
“Trying to process,” the country superstar wrote in the post. “U2 breaking into ‘Drunk on a Plane’ last night in New Orleans. Can’t make this up. Thank you whoever posted this video. I need a drink … maybe several!”
Dierks is a fan of the supergroup, having recorded “Pride (In The Name Of Love)” on his 2010 bluegrass project Up On The Ridge.
