Thomas Rhett, Kelsea Ballerini Talk CMA Fest
Thomas Rhett and Kelsea Ballerini will host CMA Fest on ABC later this month and the two are sharing some insight on what fans can expect in a new video from the CMA.
CMA Fest is the television broadcast of the nightly stadium concerts from June’s 2017 CMA Music Festival in Nashville, of course, and Kelsea still can’t believe she’s on the stage and not in the crowd. “We both remember where we say in this stadium as fans,” she says. “So I think it gives both of us a bigger appreciation for being able to sing our songs that have been on the radio now on that stage for all these people because we were one of those people.”
Thomas points to a big difference between his duties this year and the ones he had last year. “Me and [former co-host] Brett Eldredge had shows also kind of seeded in with this thing. Me and Kelsea are here every night and rockin’ it live. So it’s going ot be a little different from last year, but I think it’s gonna be really cool.”
The three-hour CMA Fest airs at 8pm ET on ABC August 16th and features live performances from Blake Shelton, Brad Paisley, Brett Eldresge, Brett Young, Brothers Osborne, Cole Swindell, Chris Young, Dan + Shay, Darius Rucker, Dustin Lynch, Dierks Bentley, Eric Church, Florida Georgia Line, Garth Brooks, Keith Urban, Lady Antebellum, Little Big Town, Luke Bryan, Maren Morris, Miranda Lambert, Old Dominion, Rascal Flatts and Sam Hunt. That’s a lot of country stars in one concert, right?
