ICYMI: Gender Reveal: Brantley Gilbert, Wife Amber Expecting A Boy
No, that wasn’t a new pope being re-elected when smoke filled the air in North Georgia Monday night (6/5) – it was the gender reveal for expectant couple Brantley Gilbert and wife Amber.
A canister filled with powder of the appropriate color – blue or pink – was placed in a far corner of the property. When the moment came, the “Bottoms Up” singer picked up a rifle and fired at the object, ejecting blue, smoke-like powder and revealing the gender of their coming firstborn. “It seemed like a fun, different way to do the reveal,” the Brantley says through his publicist. “And it felt like something that I’d really do. But I don’t think any of us thought we would get so emotional.”

“Everybody was crying,” he told People this week. “I turned around and I think that’s when it hit me that everybody has wanted this for us as much as we did for so long. When the blue cloud went up, well, that made it even more real. Now we know it’s a little boy, and he’s gonna have to get ready for a whole lot of love.”
The couple turned the occasion into a bit of a party for more than 40 close friends and family at their home outside Jefferson, GA, complete with a food truck. More here.
