This event is all about raising money for charity, one that is very close to Jeff’s family. Last summer, Jeff’s uncle (his dad’s brother) was diagnosed with ALS. The devastating news has created a fire within their family to help others struggling with the debilitating disease. Jeff made the announcement of his uncle’s diagnosis last year.
Listen to Jeff first break the tough news to our Coyote Country listeners.
The ALS Association of Nevada provides support for people who were diagnosed and their families here in Las Vegas. 100% of proceeds from this event will go to help those in our state dealing with the same issues that Jeff’s uncle is dealing with.
Jeff’s dad, Tim Kurkjian, recently received some huge news from the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, New York! He was awarded the BBWAA Career Excellence Award and will be elected into the Hall of Fame in July of 2022. You can read more here.
He serves as a reporter, analyst and writer for @espn – and on top of all that, he’s the author of three books on baseball.

Did you know that ALS is also commonly known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease?
It also was the inspiration behind the “Ice Bucket Challenge” back in 2014. It all began with Pete Frates and his family.
