NBA Ready Stadium On The Las Vegas Strip Gets Thumbs Up
Who is ready for some basketball? We know that the All Net Arena was when they were approved to build an NBA ready stadium on the Las Vegas Strip on the former Wet N Wild land. We know what happened there. Moving dirt around and nothing else. Well a new project with the same aspirations just got the go-ahead to move forward.
The new LVXP Project proposed for the land just north of Fontainebleau Las Vegas got unanimous approval from the Clark County Commission to build an NBA ready stadium on the Las Vegas Strip. The project would also include a massive hotel that will add over 2600 hotel rooms along with a condo and shopping.
The multi-billion dollar project has FAA approval to build the over 750 foot hotel tower, says LVXP. The project, however, does not have an official name.
NBA Ready Stadium On The Las Vegas Strip Has Competition
While the All Net Arena might have fizzled out, the LVXP project renews hope for an NBA ready stadium on the Las Vegas Strip and, in due time, an NBA franchise to fill it.
But they aren’t the only project.
The Oak View Group is still out there preparing their NBA ready stadium project. The project, originally slated for Blue Diamond and Las Vegas Boulevard, has abandoned that site (which will also be the home of the end of the proposed Brightline West train project) and is rumored to be headed to the Rio parking lot.
One thing is certain: Oak View Group has built stadiums for sports before and are not to be taken likely. At the end of the day, only one of these projects (or potentially none of them) will be built with an NBA team playing at it. At this point, it’s a jump ball.
