Beloved Brunch Spot, Bar In Downtown Vegas Announces Sudden Closure
An adored Downtown Las Vegas bar announced they would be shutting their doors on social media, marking an end to a glorious chapter of drag brunches and late-night bar hopping.
The Garden is an LGBTQ+ bar in the heart of the Arts District in Downtown Vegas. It opened four years ago, and it was truly an eclectic bar that accepted everyone. The bar shut its doors on Saturday, Sept. 21, according to the bar’s social media posts.
“As we close this chapter, I am filled with gratitude for the support, energy, and love that made The Garden so special. The friendships I’ve formed, many of which have turned into family, mean the world to me,” Owner Edith Castillo said on Instagram.
The Garden: Known For Fun Drag Brunches And Amazing GoGo Dancers In Downtown Vegas
The Garden was a fun spot that was packed during the weekends, especially on First Fridays. They had resident DJs and a few rotating guests. The gogo dancers also added another element of electricity to the atmosphere.
During the venue’s famous drag brunches, the place would be packed with people enjoying brunch, mimosas and more — along with a spectacular performance from the stellar drag queens.
The Garden was a place where your real-life worries would melt away. You could get a cocktail and enjoy a night out with friends. It was a common place to start your night or to end it. The plethora of eclectic bars around the area also made it a prime spot for bar hopping.
When people would come to town, I would often take them to The Garden for a fun and dance-filled moment of downtown Vegas nightlife. It was a place loved by locals and more.
We’re sad to see The Garden’s chapter come to a close. The final “Farewell Celebration” happened on Sept. 21.
“Since opening, we’ve proudly served the LGBTQ+ community and created a vibrant, inclusive space filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable memories,” the bar said on Instagram.
