Police Arrest 18 Child Predators In North Las Vegas
Officials arrested 18 alleged child predators in North Las Vegas on Aug. 22 and Aug. 23.
According to a press release from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, a multi-agency operation targeted child sex predators.
Police Arrest 18 Individuals In North Las Vegas
The individual who were arrested range from being in their early 20s to being in their 60s. The release states that those arrested were: Andres Herrera-Rodriguez, 34; Trevor Moody, 24; Jordan James, 22; Jose Haro Castaneda, 46; Jacob Miller, 23; Jesse Baca, 37; Marc Carofano III, 28; Giovanni Cruz, 30; Renato Moreno, 45; Arcenio Lagas Jr., 24; Jaret Ward, 26; Andrew Naranjo, 31; Jason Creech, 48; Wilberth Maldecino, 32; Roy Romero, 30; Leon Park, 40; Manuel Cruz, 29 and Michael Reider, 60.
The police said in the release that everyone was charged with allegedly luring a minor with a computer to engage in sex. In addition, Michael Reider was arrested and faces charges of allegedly attempted sexual assault of a minor under 14.
Nevada Internet Crimes Against Children Joint Operation Included Multiple Law Enforcement Agencies To Target Child Predators
This was a multi-agency operation that included the ICAC Task Force, the FBI’s Child Exploitation Task Force, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the North Las Vegas Police Department, the Henderson Police Department, the Homeland Security Investigations, the US Air Force Office of Special Investigation, the Nevada Attorney General.
Last year, a few other operations also targeted child predators in Las Vegas.
Last October, law enforcement officials arrested 17 people in connection to luring a minor with a computer to engage in sex. And then in April 2023, police arrested 15 men in another sting operation that targeted online sex predators.
This situation is another important reminder that teaching your children about online safety is pertinent in this day and age. This operation is part of an effort to reduce violent crime and protect children in Las Vegas, police state.
