Resorts World Will End Free Parking For Most Guests Soon
As someone who is born and raised in Las Vegas, this is something that really hurts to learn. Resorts World has announced that they will no longer offer free parking to most of their guests, starting on June 1st.
When the property opened in 2021, it promised free parking for its guests indefinitely. However, two years later, the policy changed. Unfortunately, it looks like it’s changing its policy again.
The new parking rules will affect most guests, even folks who are rewards club members. However, according to the Las Vegas Review Journal, anyone who’ve achieved the newly introduced “Elite Tier” status or higher within the casino’s loyalty program will still be able to enjoy the benefits of free parking at will be exempt from the new fees for parking.
What Does Someone Need to Do to Get Elite Status At Resorts World?
If you’re a big baller and still want to be able to get free parking on the property, you’ll need to be Elite Status or higher. To be elite, you’ll need to earn 3,000 tier credits. You can earn them by doing a variety of things throughout the property like shopping, dining, or gambling at Resorts World.
As for everyone else, Resorts World has recently updated the frequently asked questions (FAQ) page on their website to announce that self-parking will now be a flat fee of $18.
There Are Only A Few Places That Offer Free Parking On The Strip
Once June 1st arrives, there will only be a few resorts on the Las Vegas Strip that will continue offering free parking. According to Vital Vegas, Casino Royale, Treasure Island, and Circus Circus are the last to offer it.
The Tropicana also used to offer free parking, but it’s currently being demolished to make room for the new baseball stadium.
The End Of An Era?
The era of free parking on the strip feels like it’s close to becoming a thing of the past. I hope not, but there’s still some other places to park for free that aren’t casinos. Free parking is still available at a few shopping destinations on Las Vegas Boulevard, including the Shoppes at Mandalay Place and also the Fashion Show Mall.
