Shania Twain weighed in and made her thoughts known on the Oscar buzz when Ryan Gosling, who is an Oscar nominee for Best Supporting (January 23) for his work on the Greta Gerwig-directed film Barbie, stood up for his coworkers Gerwig and Margot Robbie, saying they also should have been Oscar nominees.

Gosling told People that "There is no Ken without Barbie." The two women weren't nominated in their respective Best Director and Best Actress categories. Gosling said, "There is no Barbie movie without Greta Gerwig and Margot Robbie, the two people most responsible for this history-making, globally celebrated film. No recognition would be possible for anyone on the film without their talent, grit, and genius."

Shania posted his comments and a photo of the actor on her Insta Stories and wrote, quoting some of her own song lyrics, "So, you're a Ken doll...that don't impress me much. But of course, Ryan Gosling and America Ferrera do. Well said! Let's go, Barbies!"

Twain recently announced that her "Come On Over" Residency will launch in May 2024 at the 7,000-seat Bakkt Theater at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino. The residency will be 24 shows set for May, August, September, November, and December. This marks Twain's third residency, following her "Still the One" residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace (2012-14) and the more recent "Let's Go!" Residency at Zappos Theater in Planet Hollywood (2019-22).

Shania talked with Billboard about the new Las Vegas gig, saying she wants to "change things" up and "evolve." She noted that the whole theater would be her "playroom for a while." She also said that she loves doing residencies because she gets to "consistently build a show" that she doesn't have to worry about moving around.

Shania also said that It's a very different approach to production when you have the luxury of things being maybe a "little more fragile" that you couldn't take on the road. She loves that "controlled environment" and that the custom element of her production is a "luxury."

The new slate of shows will take place in May (10, 11, 15, 17, 18, 23, 25, and 26), August (23, 24, 29, and 31), September (1, 4, 6, and 7), November (29 and 30) and December (4, 6, 7, 11, 13 and 14). Tickets go on sale on August 21.

As we kick off Women's Month (March), we wanted to focus on five songs that empower women in country music and all walks of life.

From Lady A to Carrie Underwood, Reba, and the ultimate women's anthem from Shania, we count down what we believe are five of the top songs about powerful women played put in a country song.

5 - "Like A Lady" - Lady A - 2021

It's a perfect song for a lady making her own rules for going out in town. The song's chorus includes the lyrics, "'Cause I feel like a lady / Sippin' on tequila with my Levi's on / A lady / Singin' to the music playin' all night long / Yeah, I'm feeling right, I'm living my life, I do what I like / 'Cause I feel like a lady, a lady."

4 - "Girl" - Maren Morris - 2019

From the CMA's Album of the Year (2019) of the same name. The song's chorus includes the lyrics, "What you feel is natural / But I don't wanna feel this anymore / Pick yourself up off the kitchen floor / What you waitin' for? / Girl, won't you stop your cryin'? / I know that you're tryin' / Everything's gonna be okay / Baby girl, don't you hang your head low / Don't you lose your halo / Everyone's gonna be okay / Baby girl."

3 - "The Champion" - Carrie Underwood - 2018

What a powerful song. It was recorded to serve as an opening theme for NBC Sports' Super Bowl LII television broadcast. It was also used for the 2018 Summer Olympics. Carrie recorded the song with Ludacris. The chorus includes the lyrics, "I am invincible, unbreakable / Unstoppable, unshakeable / They knock me down, I get up again / I am the champion, you're gon' know my name / You can't hurt me now, I can't feel the pain / I was made for this, yeah, I was born to win / I am the champion."

2 - "I'm A Survivor" - Reba McEntire - 2001

Used as the theme song for Reba's CW sitcom, Reba, this song sings of a woman overcoming odds to make it on her own. The chorus includes the lyrics, "The baby girl without a chance / A victim of circumstance / The one who ought a give up, but she's just / Too hard-headed! / A single mom who works two jobs / Who loves her kids and never stops / With gentle hands and a heart of a fighter / I'm a survivor."

1 - "Man! I Feel Like A Woman" - Shania Twain - 1997

"Let's Go girls!" This is the ultimate anthem to empower women. The chorus includes the lyrics, "Oh, oh, oh, go totally crazy, forget I'm a lady / Men's shirts, short skirts / Oh, oh, oh, really go wild, yeah, doin' it in style / Oh, oh, oh, get in the action, feel the attraction / Color my hair, do what I dare / Oh, oh, oh, I wanna be free, yeah, to feel the way I feel / Man, I feel like a woman (hey!)."
