Tyler Hubbard celebrated the number-one chart success of two of his solo songs, "5'9" and "Dancin In The Country." He co-wrote the latter song with Keith Urban. At the party in downtown Nashville yesterday (6/13), Keith joined Tyler and talked with us about their first writing together before the party started.
Keith told us about writing the song with Hubbard, "It was natural because we were gonna be out touring, and it just made sense for Tyler to come out, he was game for it, and it was a great fit." Tyler adds, "It was. I think that helped us kind of not break the ice, but you know, we were kind of already buddies, but being in a room when you're writing with somebody for five or six hours, you're pretty much ultimately as vulnerable as you can be and you become friends pretty quickly."

When asked if they had written together, he said, "No, it's the first song; we're just gonna quit while we're ahead." Hubbard said he was grateful to Keith for adding him to his headlining tour last year (2022) as his first solo shows came together. He said, "I think that was pretty nice like saying, 'We get a long, we're gonna have a blast playing shows together, we'll probably get creative on the road, we'll probably have some good times, and why not? I'm available, and let's do this.' It worked out really well, and Keith was kind enough to trust me and the band to come out there and figure out how to put on a new show. It was unproven; it was the first time we had ever been on tour."
Urban interrupts joking, "But you've been on stage a couple of times."
Keith Urban is a superstar in country music and a gem of a man who plays the guitar like no one else before him or since. His concerts are epic, and he changes them for each city he is in to fit that city.
Recently in Nashville, he bought up-and-coming country singer, who sang in the bar across the street from the Bridgestone Arena, to sing with him giving her two songs and one heck of a push in the music industry.
In the same show, he brought out superstar Luke Combs to sing a couple of songs and even brought his wife, Oscar winner Nicole Kidman to the stage just to say hi to his fans.
It's hard to find just 20 songs that encompass the mega-career of Urban, but we ranked what we believe are his very best for his 55th birthday today (10/26).
