Luke Bryan and his fellow American Idol judge Katy Perry made an announcement on both their Instagram accounts yesterday (2/14). In a video they posted, the two are in what looks like a windy location with palm trees in the background. Katy says, "What are you doing on my Instagram?" Luke responds, "I'm trying to get some of your hundred million followers (laughs)." Perry says, "Why am I on your Instagram," to which Bryan quips, "You want my six and a half million." Katy says, "I do love you guys very much. You are the salt of the earth, honestly."

She then says, "We have an announcement to make... " Luke says, "So we both have shows at Resorts World In Vegas, and we..." Perry interrupts, "Oh, you were gonna tell them about that announcement." Bryan looks confused, "Yes." Katy: "Okay, then we'll save the other one." Bryan: "What is the other one?" Perry laughs, "Just kidding."

Luke laughs and says, "Anyway, I am doing new shows; we're putting them on sale this Friday." Katy: "Hey, me too. I have sixteen new shows." Bryan: "I have like six shows in August and September; when are yours?" Perry: "May, July, August." Luke: "So we're doing good with this," Katy adds, "Our calendars are crazy. We share the stage; we share the same backstage, too, the same dressing room." Bryan jokes, "Wherever I pee, you pee?" Perry: "Yeah, it's strange; sometimes I have to have the toilet seat cover changed because, after a run of Luke's shows, it's just been used up (he laughs)." She adds, "But anyways, we have new shows..." Bryan adds, "It's hell out there in Vegas."

Luke's new shows at Resorts World are on August 30 and September 2, 3, 6, 8, and 9. Katy's new shows are 16 dates this summer from May 12 through August 12.

Bryan recently announced his 2023 "Country On Tour" with several opening acts, including Chayce Beckham, Ashley Cooke, and Jackson Dean, plus Tyler Braden, Jon Langston, Conner Smith, Alana Springsteen, Hailey Whitters, and DJ Rock. Luke said in a press release, "Artists get into the business to make music and perform it for the fans. Leaving it all out on that stage is what it's all about for me. I'm excited to support and have so many talented new artists along for the ride this year. It's one of the most rewarding parts of our job." Bryan's 36-city "Country On Tour" kicks off on June 15 in Syracuse, New York.

There's a moment in big arena concerts where the show just seems to "take off" and go to the next level. Some of our favorite country guys literally "take off" from the stage, and this gallery is photographic evidence.

Check out our gallery of some of country's music's biggest stars "taking flight."

In the late 1990s, she started working with Dolly Parton. And yes, Nancy reports that Parton is as sweet as you would think. She loves her life in country music and has been backstage at every CMA Awards show since the late 1990s. Many of her stories are from her one-on-one interviews.
