If you plan to travel out of state this Thanksgiving, we're here to tell you that taking an Uber or a Lyft may be the better option. The parking at Harry Reid International Airport is already packed with holiday travelers.

The 1:05 p.m. update from the airport's official Twitter account stated that Terminal 1's long-term parking was closed, as well as Terminal 3's economy parking. Terminal 3's long-term parking was open during the time of the update.

According to the Harry Reid International Airport, "Terminal 1 parking is in high demand; the Long Term garage is often at capacity. Drivers should pay attention to digital roadway signage for garage closure notifications and alternate parking instructions."

If you're one of these travelers that will be faced with this parking dilemma, here are a few tips from the airport.

Parking at Terminal 3 may be a better option, even if you fly out of Terminal 1. If you have no bags to check then you can take the pedestrian bridge across to the terminal, park and use Terminal 3's security checkpoint. After getting through security, you can use a tram system that connects from Terminal 3 to Terminal 1 and D Gates.

If you have a carry on then you can also hop on the inter-terminal shuttle to Terminal 1. The stop is located at Level Zero near the entry and exit door 55, according to Harry Reid International Airport's website.

Along with this aspect of holiday frenzy travel, those dropping passengers off at Terminal 1 may experience more congestion due to construction. This is important to plan for.

Overall, holiday travel is a busier time of year for airlines, and it's imperative to give yourself enough time to catch that flight! Plan and prepare for delays. Lines will be long, attitudes will be ample, but if you're prepared then your travel plans will be smooth -- hopefully. A lack of preparation doesn't constitute an emergency on others!

We hope everyone has a great holiday, and safe travels.
